WHat to Expect Your First Jiu Jitsu Class
Starting something new can feel intimidating—but your first jiu jitsu class doesn’t have to be. At Project 303 Jiu Jitsu in Idaho Springs, we focus on making beginners feel comfortable, supported, and confident from day one.
What Happens in Your First Class
Your first class will typically include:
A short warm-up
Basic movements (shrimping, bridging, etc.)
Learning a simple technique
Light, controlled partner drilling
You won’t be thrown into anything overwhelming.
Do You Need Experience?
No experience is needed at all. Our classes are beginner-friendly and designed for both kids and adults starting from scratch.
What Should You Wear?
You can start with:
Athletic clothes (t-shirt + shorts/leggings)
No shoes on the mat
Bring water
